With continued pay challenges within the public sector and increases in cost of living, Police CU are seeing more record numbers turning to the credit union as they look to prepare for their financial future.
Police CU are fast approaching the 30,000 member milestone – serving members within the Police, Military and Prison Service. The free employee benefit helps members save and borrow the easy way with repayments straight from their salary.
Here to help you save, there when you need to borrow.
In the last six months over 2,000 members have joined the credit union, seeing total membership increase by over 7%. The credit union service aims to improve an employee’s financial resilience, helping members to prepare for their financial future by providing flexible savings and affordable loans.
The importance of access to ethical financial services was highlighted in 2015 when the Ministry of Defence approved Police CU to provide credit union services to Service Personnel, Veterans and their family members – with deductions straight from their salary.
Improving the financial resilience of those who serve and protect.
Police CU has also seen nearly £12million in loans issued to members in the last six months.
Chief Executive Paul Norgrove said: “We are extremely proud to play our part in improving the financial resilience of all those that serve and protect. Our members are facing challenging times when it comes to their personal finances. Many facing pay freezes combined with continual increases in the cost of living.
It is fantastic that organisations are recognising the important role credit unions can play in helping their employees prepare for their financial future – offering options to save and borrow responsibly.
We will continue to do all we can to help ease the financial pressure our members experience, so they can focus on the job in hand – protecting our nation”.
Police CU is one of the largest credit unions in the United Kingdom and currently serves members of the Police, Military and Prison Service.
