Police Credit Union is celebrating reaching 30,000 members – improving financial resilience throughout the Police, Military and Prison Service.
This is a significant milestone for a credit union which was founded in 2003, as a result of a merger between various regional Police Force Credit Unions.
Today, Police Credit Union offers a range of flexible savings and affordable loans for employees of the Police, Military and Prison Service.
“Reaching 30,000 members is a proud moment for Police Credit Union,” said Paul Norgrove, CEO. “It is a testament to the hard work of our employees, as well as the continual support from our members.
Although in recent years we have expanded to the Prison Service and Military – we remain passionate about maintaining our heritage with the Police, and helping our members prepare for their financial future.”
This remains part of Police Credit Union’s long term strategy and mission – to improve the financial resilience of all those who serve and protect, whilst remaining true to the credit union ethos of ‘People Helping People’.
Last week Police Credit Union celebrated Armed Forces Day by reaching the 3,000 milestone for its military membership.
This market now makes up 10% of Police Credit Union’s total membership – with over £12.5million in loans issued to Service Personnel.
This is in line with Police Credit Union’s long term mission to help improve the financial resilience of all those that ‘Serve and Protect’ the nation.
“We made the decision to simplify our product offering and branding, stripping everything back to focus on what we do best – helping our members to save, but making sure they know we are there for them should they need to borrow.
The results have been fantastic – with increased membership and loan growth in all areas.” Paul Norgrove, CEO.
